Fall Garden at Go Away Farm

Tonight is suppose to be a freeze at the farm. With the freeze comes a frost and damage to our vegetables unless we take precautions to protect them. I did just that today. But before I covered everything with frost cloth, I picked a couple gallons of green beans, and a basket of peppers, several large heads of broccoli, Chinese cabbage and some squash. It was beautiful as the sun set.

One of the exciting things at the farm this year is the abundance of navel oranges on the single tree we have planted. Diane sliced up a couple last weekend that had been knocked down by wind and they were very sweet, although not quite ripe. Oranges are a surprise fruit for our farm. I never dreamed that we could grow them in Bellville.
