Winter is here at the farm!

It looked like the sky was on fire. I just wished my iPhone could have caught it. This doesn't really do it justice. 

The cold front came in and we awoke to temps in the high 30's after a warm balmy 70 degree day prior. The little birds filled the feeder and inhaled seed. Beautiful to watch. What was funny is that Mikki saw a fat little bird plop down in the feeder and run all the others off. They'd try to land but as long as he/she was chomping away, they'd not be able to eat. Once she / he left, the skinny birds had a heyday! Some kind of lesson in this, but I'm too tired to quandry what on earth it would be.
