The last vegetables gathered before the frost...

This year was especially tough for gardening. Even with drip irrigation, the heat and drought were trouble for the garden. We've never seen pests like we had attack the blooms and aphids. Thousands of wasps, bees and hornets. Mikki loved the fact that the aphids weren't their usual problem, but the wasps were a bit much. The tomatoes took the brunt of the heat and didn't produce nearly as well as historically. Maybe this next year we'll have better luck. Pray for rain next summer. This Fall we've been blessed with several very nice rains back to back, but not enough yet to re-fill the lakes.
