Boy's & Girl's Club Farm Tour Visits Go Away Farm

This year, Mikki and I volunteered to allow Go Away Farm to be one of the three farms that the annual Farm Tour would visit. The tour is a fund raiser for the Boy's and Girl's Club of Bellville. What a worthy cause to support. We enjoyed getting to meet so many of our neighboring farm owners as well as a lot of people from as far away as Houston and Austin. Great day! The weather cooperated with us even though it looked ominous early in the morning. Bill Hobson and Steve Nelson were kind enough to donate their pit, wood, time and skill to prepare food to sell at the farm during the event. They had wonderful garlic sausages from Bellville Meat Market (donated) for the cause. Great food! We enjoyed participating in the event and getting to know the sponsors, workers and the kids. The folks who toured seemed to really enjoy getting a look around Go Away. Our best to the Susan Young and Peggy Nelson, the ladies we were involved with in making this happen. They work very hard to assure that the event comes off without a hitch.

And it rained and rained

The pier disappears in two hours... We were three feet below the pier when the rain began at noon. We lost power about noon and got it back about seven.
